Born 24 September 1961 in Castrovillari (CS), Italy. Doctor in Physics,
University of Bologna, 18 March 1988; 1989-1991 granted 2 annual fellowships at the Institute FISBAT for research in radarmeteorology. Since 1992 he has a contract for scientific collaboration at the Institute of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences ISAO - Cloud and Precipitation Group. Since 1993 he teaches Physics at High School [ISIT "BASSI-BURGATTI" of CENTO (FE)]. He is/has been involved in the following fields:
Radarmeteorology.
Millimetric radar studies.
Theoretical modelling by hydrometeors at different frequencies and laboratory measurements of backscattering by hydrometeors at 35.8 GHz.
Computation of the most important scattering coefficients (s sca, s ext, s abs, s back, depolarisation ratios LDR, CDR and ZDR) and radar coefficients (reflectivity Z, attenuation Kdp, ZDP, r hv e d hv and so on) for different size distributions and canting angle.
Cloud Physics:
Study of optical properties of hydrometeors.
Simulation of cloud scenarios.
